MSV former president named to Health Information Technology Interoperability Advisory Commission

On Oct. 13, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced the creation of the Health Information Technology Interoperability Advisory Commission. Gov. Kaine named William A. Hazel Jr., M.D., former president of MSV and AMA trustee as the MSV representative to the Commission, which will be chaired by Secretary of Health and Human Resources Marilyn Tavenner. The Commission is charged with ensuring stakeholder engagement and providing guidance to the governor on the most effective use of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (AARA) funds designated for Health Information Technology.
