Meet Virginia’s Medicare auditor

In preparation for the launch of Medicare’s Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program in Virginia, the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) have scheduled four open forums with representatives from Connolly Consulting (Virginia’s RAC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

This is your opportunity to hear first-hand how the RAC program will work in Virginia and ask questions of the organizations’ lead staff. RAC requests will begin in October -- this program presents an excellent opportunity to ensure that you and your staff are educated about this impending program and that your questions and concerns are addressed.

Though the floor will be open to everyone at the meeting, please submit any particular questions you may have in writing to Robin Clair Cummings, MSV’s assistant director of health policy and research, via e-mail to ensure all questions are addressed at the meeting.

CMS and Connolly have agreed to commit two days for outreach in Virginia. Given this limited amount of time, MSV and VHHA have worked to find fairly central locations: October 13 in Blacksburg and October 14 in Richmond. Each location will have a morning and afternoon session with the same presentations and presenters, and participants need only attend one of the scheduled sessions.

Wednesday, October 14
Times: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: The Place at Innsbrook, Glen Allen
